The Jellyfish Model
A friend of mine was feeling depressed and hopeless about the reappearance of a negative behavioral pattern (I don’t matter) that she thought she had laid to rest. When she found it contaminating her life yet again, her sense of victory collapsed.
When we looked at the whole collection of situations in which she lost her personal power, including the two new ones, she could see that it was many variations of the same theme – one theme with lots
of strings attaching to various circumstances. Like a jelly fish with tentacles. And each time she recognized and told the truth about who she was, the puffy part of the jellyfish deflated a bit more, till she thought she was done.
In retrospect, she could see that the jellyfish was still there, and likely has more tentacles – more subtle tentacles, touching into the next layer of the old matrix of lies. Each zap of the tentacle presenting her with the choice of caving in (as she did when she was young) or facing the truth and freeing herself even more.
There’s always More to reclaim and experience and create. We are an ever-evolving creation – individually and collectively.
PS I like the jellyfish image because the puffy part, like the matrix of lies, is insubstantial and loses life force when grounded.
Oh, I like that so much better than my “octopus tentacles” model. Thanks, Ann!
I am curious to find out what blog platform you have been utilizing? I’m experiencing some minor security issues with my latest blog and I’d like to find something more safeguarded. Do you have any suggestions?
