Sacred Living Art
During the same conversation with Shelagh Brown (UK artist) as several posts ago, (I have her permission to share this), she talked about her process of creating art. She often doesn't know why she chooses the images from which she begins her projects. Something clicks physically to start the process, and the interaction between Shelagh and the original image morphs into its own identity. Once the project has its own definition, there is a big push at the end to deliver the finished product. Hmmmm. Yes. The birth process … and the ensuing revelation of the "more" that she is, as it/she emerges from her unconscious and into physical form.
I recognize that process. Something gets triggered in me physically, followed by the relentless process of interaction between me and "IT" – as understanding becomes more conscious and personally sacred. That process hones me, shapes me, changes me.
Moving to Africa started as a heart-tug, took root of its own accord. My Reticular Activating System (RAS) began seeing images, possibilities that evoked even deeper heart-tugs, and doors started opening. Eight months later, I was living in South Africa, being part of a nation in transition. When I left, two years later, I had morphed into a more refined version of myself – honed by the process of living.
While I am not an "artist" as most people define that word, I am an artist – as are we all. We are art forms, works in progress, becoming more conscious and awake and impacting others via our art form. Sacred living art.
Yes, indeed! Thanks for continuing to demonstrate the art of living fully.
Just read this. How beautiful.
