Addictions – Part 8 – Healing Globally

Yes, there are group and corporate addictions! Any group of people who believe Their Way should be imposed on everyone else is addicted to self-righteousness – easily seen with religious extremists. There are groups of people and whole companies addicted to money/power. I personally believe many Americans have an addiction to entitlement, it's pervasive in our society.

Today I received an email from Kimberly McKeehan, a More To Life student in Bozeman, MT. She has written an article published in the e-zine, The Bozeman Magpie, entitled "Getting Clean." In the article she quotes Elizabeth Silber who basically says it's time to take responsibility for OUR part of the Gulf oil gush – for the bad decisions we have made collectively – way before the oil gush, before the wars in the Middle East, before we chose unsustainable fuel.

In the same way that it is important to discover our part in the creation of our own addictions, so it is also incumbent on us as human beings to take stock of how WE got ourselves in this global/corporate fix – not just the oil gush, but also wars, poverty, hunger, abuse of the planet. 

Along those lines, my friend Lynn Wright (More To Life Student in Johannesburg, South Africa) sent me a visualization that she uses in meditation. She could be like millions of others and do the blame game, or like millions of others who consider themselves victims of this oil gush. Either of those energies just add to the energy of dis-ease, further fracturing, not healing. No!

Why not focus on 'Now What?' Lynn and others are focusing their energy on Healing the Gulf waters (witness Masaru Emoto), and on healing the planet.  Below are two cards that she uses to focus her energy on the well being of the planet. The first one is specifically concerning the Gulf of Mexico. Lynn says, "This is an image that I use to focus on the best possible outcome in the Gulf for the planet and all life, whatever that outcome may be, because I trust in a higher intelligence that holds all context –context of which I have limited understanding. I visualise the image from directly above it looking down through the centre of the star into a vortex of ultra violet blue energy that goes right down into the centre of the earth. Working with it enables me to remain balanced and calm in the face of all potential outcomes, doing the work I have been entrusted to do."

This second card is about our jewel-blue planet occupying a very tiny bit of
space, way out on a spiral arm in the outer third of the Milky Way Galaxy, which
occupies only a very small portion of the Universe.
