Discernment

I’ve been especially aghast recently about the flood of information that is twisted to suit the agenda of
Screen Shot 2013-01-13 at 11.11.23 AM the promoter. Sometimes that information is a downright, intentional lie to hoodwink the mark – *we* being the mark. It’s been coming at me via TV, newspapers, magazines, and especially the internet.

Here’s how it looks to me. Whether the outcome is fueled by passion or by greed, there is no room, not really, for an alternate opinion – even if that opinion could be an optimum solution. Divisiveness reigns; extrapolated further, we have war.

The foundation of this conflict seems to stem from the intra-psychic war – the spiritual battle that is waged daily between our own dark side that schemes/finagles/twists/downright lies to get what we want (or to be “right”) and our light side that is altruistic and wants to be a part of the ultimate good for all.

Regarding incoming media (especially the internet), I have honed my ability to discern the wheat from the chaff. Some links are obvious cons, some are suspicious, and some are still gnawing away at my gullibility. I would say the same is true about my spiritual awakeness – I’ve moved on completely in some areas, still wary in others, and constantly eroding my ego in ever-new ways. (Life seems very intentional about that!)

I want to wake up – both intra-psychically and as part of the psyche of humankind. It requires me to refine my ability to discern the Real Truth/Reality – to grow in wisdom, to be non-judgmental and perceptive in order to obtain spiritual direction and understanding.

Sometimes it’s not easy to remember that that’s what I’ve always wanted … really.
