One + One + One + 6 = 22
Yesterday evening was magic. It was one of those evenings that confirms the best in the human spirit, that awakens hearts to the possibility of Oneness.
It started with a visionary inviting a visionary who invited visionaries. Fika, a black South African invited Lisa Kane (pictured on the left), a white South African who invited me and 3 other South African More To Life coaches – Mandy Antzolatos (pictured on the right),
Thapelo Mzizi (no pic available), Alvin Hirner (bottom left), who were joined by Bronwen Lankers-Byrne and Patrick and Nosipo (South African friends).
Eight of us crowded into a van, which took us to Langa, a township outside of Cape Town. There we were met by Fika, who gave us a mini-tour of the facility – an old recreation center in the process of being rehabilitated, whose primary purpose is to end the
spread of AIDS.
We had one hour to impact Fika’s group of 14 entrepreneurs and dedicated students, who had become dispirited. Fika and Lisa and I collaborated on how we could best use that hour to impact his group. In the beginning, some faces were open, some were “wait and see,” some were downright closed. Ah, but at the end of one hour, openness prevailed, hope was blooming, gratitude was the order of the moment – gratitude from both groups, which had somehow become one group walking the same path.
And all we did was tell the truth – speak about reality, and turned them loose to support each other in pairs, with the coaches supporting the pairs. We didn’t do it For them, we did it With them. It makes all the difference.
