Laughing a Lot with Angela Mitchell
Yesterday, Angela Mitchell just happened to be in Christchurch during the same window of time as I. We were both excited about being able to connect, because the last couple of times I've been to New Zealand, we didn't get together. I missed her.
She did the first New Zealand More To Life Weekend with me and Anne Brown at the Tauhara Centre, North Island. It was one of those immediate connections.
One of the stories we were laughing about was an incident when she was my Trainer Support. That meant we ate together, while she gave me feedback. I had given up chocolate, and when the dessert came, it was chocolate cake with whipped cream on top. Naturally, keeping my word to myself, I didn't have any dessert. We carried on chatting. Without even thinking (obviously), I suddenly swiped my finger through her whipped cream and ate it. We were both shocked. I was mortified. Then we cracked up laughing.
I realized that she is so much like a sister to me, I behaved accordingly. Everytime we get a chance to hang out, that is one of the stories one of us will tell. You might wonder what an older Texas woman and a young Maori woman would find in common. I have learned that age, gender, and culture have little meaning in matters of the heart.
