A Visionary’s Issue
Cathy Reinhold and I, both members of the Houston More To Life Steering Committee, were talking late one night, caught up in the myriad of possibilities floating in the air. We generated lots of excitement about all the things that could happen. It was so much fun. Yes, in reality there is endless potential for any program and/or any individual.
And then hit the overwhelm. So much to manifest, so little time/resource … and we plummeted back to earth.
Truthfully, I know that cycle of excitement about making something important happen, having so much of the Big Picture to accomplish, so many places to begin, so many people to get on board, wanting so much to accomplish so much. Then dropping into overwhelm with so many To Do's, then further dropping into defeat before I even get started.
Fortunately, we trucated that old cycle and each chose a next step that would begin the manifestation of this big, hairy vision for our future. Actually we chose 2 – the last of which was to set a date for our next meeting to check our progress.
I know the way to manifest a vision is one step at a time, like eating an elephant one bite at a time. However, my personal little trap is my ability to multi-task.
"Why not take one step at a time, but on two or three different paths? That way you can accomplish more in the same amount of time."
That works only if I'm not already multi-tasking on my health, relationships, other projects. It also works if I'm believing I'm superwoman. I've disabused myself of that notion many times, but it hovers like a beckoning doppelganger on the periphery of my reality.
Why don’t you share some of the content of the Big Vision and see who else might want to assist you in creating it. I’m in.
